Dr. Venugopala Rao Kaki, a former Lecturer in English and an Indian-English poet, short-story writer, critic and free-lancer has to his literary credit, a huge body of poems, short-stories and critical articles widely published in the journals of global renown such as Poet, Poetry Times, Poets International, The Indian Pen, Poetcrit, Poetry world, Triveni, Literary Criterion, Contemporary Vibes etc. Poetry websites - Muse India, Poem hunter.com and national and International anthologies brought out by The World poetry Society and Poetry Times and won wide critical acclaim from the literary world.

More than ten of his poems have been declared as Best poems and Prize- winning poems from “Your Space” of the globally renowned e-zine. Muse India. He is the author of three poetry collections "The Muse Beckons (e-book, kindle) "Ripples and Reflections" (Authors Press) and "The Voice of the Vision" (as a co-translator, poems translated from Telugu into English). His poems have also been featured in The Multi-lingual International poetry Anthologies - Amaravati Poetic Prism 2016,2017,2018 and 2019 published by A.P. Govt. As a freelancer, he has to his journalistic credit, a large number of articles published in national newspapers like "The Hindu, The New Indian Express (edit page), Deccan Herald and The Hans India."

He received M.phil degree form Andhra University for his dissertation on the fiction of the celebrated American novelist, John Updike. He was awarded Ph.D degree for his thesis on the poetry of the eminent poet, Harindranath Chattopadhyaya (Andhra University). He was a grant-in-scholar of A.S.R.C, Hyderabad in 1994. He presented a considerable number of talks in English and poetry-recitations from AIR, Visakhapatnam, A.P. He received three letters of appreciation of his poems and a critical article on "Wings of Fire" (Published later in "Critical Criterion") from none other than the honourable former President of India, Dr. A.P.K. Abdul Kalam (from Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi) which was the most memorable experience in his literary career. He lives in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, pursuing his literary activities and free-lance journalism.
