Can Anyone Hear Me?

The fire is dying out,
The last embers have gone cold,
Just like the hole that is now home,
It’s all so dark and cold.

I hang around my friends,
Smile when they smile,
And often laugh out loud,
But I’m all alone in my world.

I cry for help with every move,
But I cannot be loud…No!
The pointing fingers and gossip,
The shame would wash me over like a flood!

But the fire is dying out,
Can anyone hear me?
