Envy

In a surge of emotions
The selfish man inside me
Sometimes envies those
In your close proximity -
Friends and relatives
Or even colleagues at work
Who get your attention and care
Who get your hugs and kisses
In a token of display of
Mutual warmth and love.
The chain of thought breaks
The selfish turns selfless
And realization comes fast
Happiness and well-being
Of loved ones is what
Every soul aspires for
If they are happy and contented,
You will be happy and contented
So your wish becomes my wish
Your likings turn to my likings
Somewhere me mingles in you
And the envy like camphor
Vaporizes in the oblivion.

Rupradha Ji, usually I avoid any remarks of judgemental nature unless specifically required but can't resist to say that other than the boloji editor herself, currently you are the most valuable and sensible person/poet who reads and reviews almost all poems with a positive bent up of mind. Thanks a lot!
