Should I?

The colours and shapes
I carry within, (in a weighty tome
I fear to open),
are so many megabytes
from bygone lives
encoded, I am told,
upon the inner database

Bits and bytes
of internalised beliefs
on a pre-programmed palette
or a dance of karmic pixels?
And those forms
eerie, contorted... real
or projected phobias?

Should I struggle to reveal
what nature wants hidden?
I peeped just once
into that coded album...
impenetrable, undecipherable
yet inseparable companion!
Now it stays securely stashed
inside a secret folder.
I have named it
‘selective ignorance’.
