Grasp the Present

It is often said Our life is a book, Each phase of life A chapter of the book And the birth and death Represent prologue and epilogue. But unlike a book Life goes only one way A person can't revisit The chapters of his life Except in memories and thoughts. A person can't foresee What is in store at the end Before its due time And what is present now Will become past next moment A reason strong enough Why one should grasp the present! Yet we continue To loathe and live with Regrets and failures of the past Also keep on pondering What is due in the future And in the process Unable to live moments Of the real and beautiful present. (Based on some inspirational readings in the recent past)
