Mileposts
|
by K.S. Subramanian |
|
|
I give a guttural laugh at a fancy
that often jerks me with a numbing pain;
almost like a scab that surfaces
and dissolves with an antidote.
Mileposts look so similar,
also sinister as if it is a shadow
one chases with nose buried in the sand;
When it feels like you have reached it
it appears a bit like stranger in the distance;
or the shadow tantalisingly
evading your grasp.
A mirage, delusion or reality?
I would only swallow the query, not digest it;
Ashes too taste good at times, right? |

Thanks for a nice poem,sir. Mileposts look like a mirage, make one feel it a reality, with ultimate realisation that delusion is the word. Powerful poem as ever.regards.
