A Cold Wintry Day

In his house's front yard

On thick and lush green grass

Cozy and comfortable

In his favourite armchair

Detached and withdrawn

From all mundane matters

Somewhat lost in a pious reverie

Eyes shut, he muses on…

On this cold wintry day

If there was anything

More salubrious and rewarding

Than bright and warm sunshine

The only instant answer he gets

If only she was around

With her assuring togetherness

The warmth of her closeness

And familiar, angelic smile.
