Bygones Be Bygones

For people’s peace and bliss in life,

A wise man in the West gave a dictum

“Let bygones be bygones”

Treating it as mere follies of youth.

The phrase by its genuine implication

Essentially advises everyone to forget

Most of the eventful and sordid past

For a cheerful life in what is present.

But is this really true and practical?

The past, present and future

Are different kaalkhand* of time

Hence, cause and effect are inseparable

And together dictate eternal way of life.
