  An elusive mist creeps
from the night unseen
rolling towards the frothy surf,
divided only by the precipice
on which it stands.

Oarsmen gather their nets
on the sandy bar beneath
in humble homage to those
who toiled to sustain them,
and bring them this life.

Gulls gliding above,
on occasion dive toward the sea
in their winged predatory flight,
before rising to new heights
from which to spot their next prey.

Dark storm clouds looming
predict a turbulent passage
to those who dare venture
into a perilous sea.

Beneficent nature
cloaked in exquisite garments,
will reap what it has sown
within its universal realm.
