Varala Anand hails from Karimnagar, Telangana. Presently at Hyderabad. Basically a poet, translator, and film critic. Received the Central Sahitya Akademi award for translation in 2022 for my translation of Gulzar's Green Poems into Telugu and many more awards at the state level. Retired as a lecturer in library science at S.R.R. Government Degree and P.G. College, Karimnagar.
I was in the film society movement for three and a half decades. I have 25 books to my credit. Published books on film criticism and poetry in Telugu and English.
