Last Rites

All she remembered was his face
smiling at her, at his last stage.
His smile reaching his eyes,
She could never forget it.
It was her last moment with him
and it had imprinted in her mind forever.
She thought of her moments with him.
Everything came before her eyes.
She regretted the moment she fought with him.
But now there is no other chance
to make it up.
She stood there looking at his lifeless body,
With a beautiful smile on his lips.
It tore her heart but
She was helpless.
She was now with the audience
She couldn't even do his last rites.
Society had prevented her to do so.
A daughter stood just like a spectator,
Watching her father's burning corpse.
