Living Alone

  I know not why I am alone,
Who gave me blood and flesh
Live far away in hell or heaven;
I know not why all is not well!
I am an idiot creature, living death,
Everywhere see but fence and fence,
Brother is away, neighbor not here,
Trying in vain to break and fetch.

Children are away for money,
Wife ever busy with milk and honey;
In home away from a home
Talking to stars and the moon.
In office pressed under red tape,
Formal smile makes no shining India
I live in a country of bribery, divided
Between the plump and the reed.

Now my tech daughter is not mine,
A home maker away from my dream;
I know not why dream so dear
Where my eyes to sleep and dream?
Dead land is far, heaven is far
My thoughts going away far and far
Where I live sans dream and thoughts
Where to go, life is so bitter?
God is in his heaven; Earth, a forlorn design.
