Archna Sahni has an MA (University of Bombay) and MPhil (Panjab University) in English. She has lived and studied in Kuala Lumpur, Mumbai, Toronto, and Chandigarh. Until recently a college lecturer, she is currently completing a PhD thesis related to women in the Mahabharata. She is an upcoming poet on the Indo-English literary scene. Her poetry has been published in leading literary journals such as The Bombay Literary Review, Kavya Bharati, Poetry Chain , The Brown Critique etc. Poetry Chain awarded her the Agha Shahid Ali Poetry Prize for 2001. A selection of her work will appear in an anthology on new Indian woman poets due in August 2003. Her interests include revisionist Indian history, women's spirituality, and Vedic astrology. |
