MA in history from St. Stephen’s College in 1952; Ph D from the Indian School of International Studies, country's first graduate school – later amalgamated with JNU Work

Work Experience:
Started with All India Management Association. Was founder editor of Indian Management, country’s first management journal for professional managers. Later for two decades worked in industry in various leading companies in senior marketing assignments. From 1982 to 2002 headed Interface Management Consultants, specializing in Organizational Development. Assignments with leading public sector companies, especially units of Ordnance Factory Board. Has also been on the staff of the Administrative Staff College of India

As a Writer:
From 2002 onwards devoted to writing. Have already published two books: India’s Wounded Polity and Hinduism on Crossroads.  A novel – Knots of the Heart under publication. Working on another study of Indian polity. Have been a columnist for Calcutta editions of Economic Times and Business Standard.
