That's what you do for Good Poetry

One and a half ounce of diction
And a dash of denotation,
On Qt of irony
And some crushed connotation,
Some literal meanings
And some figuration.....

Garnished with metaphors
Over syntax in a situation.

Mix ingredients in a punch bowl of resplendent imagery
That's what you do for some good poetry!

Or

A cauldron of meter over a fire of passion,
A fillet of a symbol and crazy catching caption,
The claws of a pun
Added to wings of compassion
The tongue of illusion
To the hair of a fraction -

Chant a charm of chiming verses
As you dance in the circle of action.

Till passion peaks to a crescendo in a Witches Brewery -
That's what you do for some good poetry!

Or

Forms and pattern, known as the feed,
In a feed tray in the middle of the figurative breed
Stripped of the superfluous
Now a rectified creed
Vaporized to a blank verse
Condensed to a read.

Cooled down in a stanza
A purifying deed.

One drop of distilled verse of all the filth now free
That's what you do for some good poetry!
