Unspoken Words

Tell me dear, what you heard
For there was no spoken word
Was there not ?

Was there not the soft voice floating by
Singing the tunes long forgotten
Rising from the ashes, slow and high
Rendering for all those women and men
The songs which remained to be sung
Was not there the slow blossoming
Of the bud which at last saw the Sun
The sensuous act of the petals opening
Into full bloom one by one...

Did you hear them open into
Full grown flower and find
Them leaving their closed past behind
Was not there the slow meandering
Of waterways earlier lost in track
To resume it's journey, converging
into river, assuming the shape back
The flow of water did you not hear
Wetting and soothing all that came near

Tell me dear, what you heard
For there was no spoken word
Was there not ?
