Differing standards

  On the wings of a black eagle
I soared higher in a hurry
and dashed against the door
that Dharma had just closed.

The divergent route
that an arrow pointed
also led to a life beyond;
they call it Hell.

Repentance, I thought,
might have washed my sins,
the pious thoughts those surfaced
in closing days of my life.

My insistence to attack
the closed door, however,
was misplaced,
for even though
I undertook austerities and
realized the worth of virtues,
the same did not apply
to Gods in Heaven.

They follow Law of Karma;
their dictionary
does not record the word:
Forget or Forgive.
