You made your entrance on the stage you look so perfect for your part I've waited for you here all night and I know every act by heart
There's no poetry between us now no conversation worth the words when you come near my thoughts scatter like a flock of startled birds
On some other night my love would sink into a bed of stones but I've seen this part before another dreamer takes you home
I'd pay to see your show again though the story's wearing now you still shine in all your charms when the playhouse lights go down
It's over now - the exit doors were never very far away when all the mystery is gone it's just a poorly written play.
